Your map has been lying to you. 🗺️👀 I built (well Your map has been lying to you. 🗺️👀 I built (well, told Claude to write) a little map toy that lets you pick any country and watch the whole world re-project around it — so that country finally shows up at its actual size and shape. Then it draws the "normal map" version on top as a ghost. Spoiler: Greenland's map-shape is about 16× the area of its real one. Sixteen. Did Mercator really say "make it huge, nobody will check."
